'Serendipity' is a word that I had learned not long ago. It means doing something by chance which presents a positive result, by chance too.

 

Recently, my close friend Darren who is a bassist, invited me to attend a gig that he was performing at. This performance meant a lot to him because he was meant to share the stage with Parekh & Singh, a very famous indie-pop duo from Kolkata, India, but their music have got them internationally acclaimed. It was their very first show in Dubai, and Darren was a part of their inception. 

 

My plan was to go enjoy an evening of music, support my friend and take a couple of shots, that's it! However, while I captured my photos, I thought it might be a good idea to also record some videos to reminisce at some point. When I reached home I thought to myself, “Why didn't I just plan this as a proper concert shoot?”, but yeah I was just meant to support Darren. Enter serendipity! The results from that day were surprisingly incredible. I've worked on producing a video project that illustrates the vibe with very limited raw material/ footage to work with.

 

In conclusion, I am happy with the results that came out of that day. Happy about supporting my friend and happy about taking up a challenge and turning it into a beautiful project that I am proud of.
